Thank you for the suggestions! I recently read a short story of his (I don't recall the title right off hand), and it got me interested in reading more of his work. I wasn't really sure where to start so I just picked up a few of his books at random at the library. I'll definitely have to keep those titles in mind.

The "motherlode," if you can find it, is The Essential Ellison.

There were two editions ... the 35 year retrospective and the 50 year retrospective. I have the former.
